TVIPS announces a new generation of CMOS based TEM cameras for high-end scientific imaging in Transmission Electron Microscopy. With its 50 frames per second readout rate (4k x 4k) and Ultra High Dynamic Range, TemCam-XF416 is the best choice for material- and life-science and even perfectly suitable for in-situ applications.


4kTemCam-XF416 is the latest, state of the art 16 megapixel camera covering an image area of 63.5 x 63.5 mm². Its exceptional acquisition speed of up to 25 fps (4k x 4k) or up to 200 fps (512 x 1k) for subareas make this camera the best choice for almost any application. Thanks to its new Dual Readout Technology, the TemCam-XF416 achieves an Ultra High Dynamic Range of 20000:1. Just like all other TVIPS cameras the TemCam-XF416 has single electron sensitivity and an even better SNR.

Fiber-optical coupling of the electron-sensitive layer (scintillator) with the sensor increases the amount of light collected in comparison to lens-optical coupling and, as a result, the sensitivity of the camera.

For optimum performance, the TEC-cooled CMOS sensor is located in a vacuum housing separated from the microscope vacuum. The scintillator surface is kept at room temperature. This design avoids contamination and allows the venting of the camera chamber without warming up the CMOS sensor.

Optimized Scintillator Optimized Scintillator

TVIPS optimizes the scintillator for individual demands. For high tension ranging from 6 kV – 60kV up to 400 kV, two standard types are available: optimized for high resolution or for high sensitivity. On customer request, individual scintillators can be manufactured.
