High-end technology in a compact package. Mirroring the capabilities of the XF416 series, the XF216 shows its advantages in confined areas, be it spatially or financially. Supporting 90 fps at 2k x 2k it shines in combination with smaller to mid-size TEM systems, as well as UHV applications like LEEM and PEEM.
2kTemCam-XF216
The TemCam-XF216 is the latest addition to the TVIPS’s camera range, which on the same level with its larger version TemCam-XF416 in terms of technical features. Providing a high frame rate with 48 fps in the standard mode and 90 fps in high speed mode, as well as a ultra high dynamic range and single electron sensitivity, it is suitable as high-end camera for many different applications. Its more compact dimensions can be a great advantage for some specific usages, for example as a UHV camera in LEEM/PEEM systems.
TemCam-XF216 is also available as UHV version with CF-160 Flange.
Due to its new Design, TemCam-XF216 can acquire up to 48 fps (2k x 2k) and up to 90 fps in high speed mode.
Using Dual Readout Mode the camera is able to extend its Dynamic Range to 20000:1 by optionally increasing the pixel’s capacity.
Using EM-Menu, Realtime Drift Correction can be performed to improve final image quality.
Fiber-optical coupling of the electron-sensitive layer (scintillator) with the sensor increases the amount of light collected in comparison to lens-optical coupling and, as a result, the sensitivity of the camera.
For optimum performance, the TEC-cooled CMOS sensor is located in a vacuum housing separated from the microscope vacuum. The scintillator surface is kept at room temperature. This design avoids contamination and allows the venting of the camera chamber without warming up the CMOS sensor.
TVIPS optimizes the scintillator for individual demands. For high tension ranging from 6 kV – 60kV up to 400 kV, two standard types are available: optimized for high resolution or for high sensitivity. On customer request, individual scintillators can be manufactured.
